How do I contact Panopto support? ›

If you get an error message at the video, like X-frame or the video prompts you to log in, there is an issue with your browser/cookies. Panopto supports the latest versions of Chrome, Edge (Chromium-based and legacy), Firefox, Internet Explorer (11), and Safari. Make sure, that you are not using a VPN.

Panopto is the industry-leading intelligent knowledge management platform for on-demand video sharing. Create, manage, and deliver accessible content across teams, classrooms, and locations with an easy-to-use platform.

If your Panopto video doesn't upload due to and interrupted Internet connection or other issues, allow some time for the upload to retry, which may take several hours. In the rare event of an upload failure to the Panopto server, the recording remains stored on the local computer.

Panopto Capture, by comparison, saves videos directly to the Panopto cloud. These videos are uploaded incrementally as you record. A local copy is not saved to your computer. Similarly, the Panopto Recorder software must be downloaded to your computer for you to use the software.

Uploads will take some time to process so check back in a bit to view content. Typically hour and a half long recordings, or roughly one class session takes about a half hour to 45 minutes to process and be viewable. Anything less than an hour will typically be available in under 20 minutes.

Faculty and administrators can easily view reports in Panopto that show which students watched each video, how long students watched videos before dropping off, and more.

Supported Browsers

Panopto supports the latest versions of Chrome, Edge (Chromium-based), Firefox, and Safari. *Users can view, upload, or record content using the mobile app; however, they cannot edit content. Note: Panopto Capture is also available within the Panopto Video Management System.

Panopto-Zoom Integration

The Zoom Cloud recording will be automatically imported into Panopto for further manipulation. Our recommendation is that if is a synchronous, live session, then use Zoom to record. If it is pre-recorded and meant for consumption later, use Panopto.

With Panopto's offline functionality, you can record audio, video, screen images, or PowerPoint slides even when you do not have network connectivity. The system will capture the content and store the material locally on the recording computer.

Panopto is extremely easy to use, and while you can use it for free, it limits you to 5 hours of online video storage and 100 hours of streaming per month. Paying $14.99 per month boosts the online storage to 50 hours with unlimited streaming and also adds online and email support as well.
