Which Cereals Are the Most Sugary? Rhett & Link Find Out | Sporked (2024)

To look at the nutritional label or not to look at the nutritional label—that is the question. Rhett & Link have us questioning our morning choices on today’s episode of Good Mythical More, on which they guess which breakfast cereals have the most sugar. This will no longer be a sugar-coated mystery.

In 5th place: Reese’s Puffs (9 grams of sugar per serving)

We all remember the jingle: “Reese’s Puffs, Reese’s Puffs, peanut butter chocolate flavor.” But does this cereal actually sing or flop? Rhett thought the Reese’s Puffs were sickeningly sweet. Conversely, Link defended the puffs: “Ain’t nothing sickening about it, though; they’re nice.”Link noted that with Frosted Flakes, the sugar was more visible. Ultimately, they guessed that Reese’s Puffs had 15 grams of sugar per serving, and they were incorrect. So the next time you eat Reese’s Puffs, you can assure yourself that there are worse ways to start the morning.

In 4th place (tied): Frosted Flakes (12 grams of sugar per serving)

This ranking was a shock. The flakes in Frosted Flakes are literally frosted with sugar, so what gives?? Rhett & Link guessed that Frosted Flakes would be the second most sugary option, but they were very incorrect. They should have listened to Rhett’s foreshadowing. He acknowledged that, yes, you can see sugar all over Frosted Flakes, but he warned that there’s “no other place for the sugar to hide,” unlike other cereals.

In 4th place (tied): Honey Nut Cheerios (12 grams of sugar per serving)

Rhett & Link guessed that Honey Nut Cheerios contain 12 grams of sugar per serving, and they were correct! You could say they’re the bee’s knees. All of that heart-healthy Cheerio marketing must be paying off.All hail Honey Nut Cheerios! Rhett expressed his fondness for this honey nut (that is not actually a nut). He said that one of the only memories he has from before the age of three is the moment he said goodbye to Cheerios and hello to Honey Nut Cheerios.

In 3rd place: Raisin Bran Crunch (34.6 grams of sugar per 100 grams of cereal)

Look, we can all appreciate Raisin Bran Crunch’s packaging. The sun, the source of ALL LIFE, is a good mascot, according to Rhett. But we all know this stuff packs a lot sugar because, as Rhett astutely pointed out, “The raisins have a lot of sugar in them.”Rhett & Link guessed that Raisin Bran Crunch would be the sugariest of all of these sugary cereals, but they were just a little bit off.

In 2nd place: Corn Pops (37.5 grams of sugar per 100 grams of cereal)

Rhett & Link guessed that Pops would be the least sugary cereal of the cereals they tasted. After all, the packaging is kinda meh, there’s no unhinged mascot, and the sugary branding isn’t in your face. Rhett was particularly shooketh over this revelation. “We were a Pops family,” he said. “My mom thought she was making a good decision. She was making a bad decision.” He started to question how this has impacted the course of his life. “Think of where I’d be if I hadn’t eaten these,” Rhett said. “I’d be in the Senate.”

In 1st place: Cap’n Crunch (44.32 grams of sugar per 100 grams of cereal)

Rhett & Link don’t love how much sugar is in Cap’n Crunch and they definitely don’t love a Cap’n telling them what to do. “I don’t need a captain to direct me on what to enjoy,” Rhett said. “I don’t need an authority figure to be my mascot.” Give him a bee or a sun and let him eat his sugary breakfast cereal in peace, please.
