I am looking to economise and wondered what beans would work well in a Curry to make it go a little further. So far I have tried red lentils (worked pretty well) chick peas ( I am not really a fan) and black beans (I love black beans but I dodn't think they worked in the Curry)
Grateful for tips.

Yes I usually add red pepper and lots and lots of onion. I thought that beans would add to the calories.

add LOTS of cauliflower - it's ace in curries.
otherwise, I have used chickpeas and puy lentils beofre, both worked fine.
sweet potato is another veg I have used ot bulk out curry - works well, depending on what sauce you use.

Any kind of lentil would work/is authentic.
Also, double up the amount of onion - that will add calories as well as bulk.

I make a Jamie Oliver korma with chickpeas, but as DD is that fond of them I blend it first, so it's a smooth sauce.

I buy them tinned, so rinse and add in - simmer for a bit while the rest is cooking/gaining flavour.

Lentils are great, red lentils. And Chick peas. Or Green Beans, although I know that is not quite what you are asking. And potatoes.

I have even recently added frozen peas in the last few minutes of cooking, when I did not have any peppers of green beans in the house. Very good too.
Enjoy your curry!
