TOTALLY TERRIFIC TUNA TONNATO (Or tuna sauce or even dip…)
This TONNATO is the sexiest thing you can make with a can of tuna!

It’s also a super simple way to get more fish into your diet. Which is important, even if you’re not following the Autoimmune Protocol – because fish is so damn good for you.

TONNATO

tuna sauce

Traditionally, the Italians serve their tonnato over veal. As in Vitello Tonnato. For a less meaty option, spooned over asparagus is a lovely alternative. Ottolenghi has a recipe with roasted cauliflower steaks. Of course, it’s also #bloodyfabulous as a dip with crackers or flatbread.

I think tonnato tastes wonderful over any kind of vegetable number or even over boiled eggs (if you have successfully reintroduced them).

And, of course, canned tuna is the ultimate lazy-girl way to get some fish into your diet, too.

And this is something that still challenges me, after all this time on my AIP way of life.

Canned tuna in extra virgin olive oil, is one of those #bloodyfabulous, AIP-friendly pantry staples. It’s an inexpensive and easy way toadd more fish to your diet, even if you’re not a the biggest fan of fish recipes (<– like me!)

Jessica Simpson famously referred to tuna as the chicken of the sea. And she was sort-of on the money. as far as fish go, tuna is mild in flavour.

When it comes to the nutrient-density of canned tuna, it’s got:

  • Omega 3s and potassium
  • Vitamin D
  • Selenium, manganese, and zinc

Fish is also a very gut-friendly source of protein.

Why not bookmark this baby for the day when you need a wee little something fast that tastes good and is good for you?

Introducing the JFC SOUP EQUATION!

Helping you to implement sustainable changes to improve your health is my ‘thing’. One of the ways to best achieve this is to provide ideas for rituals and routines that support your efforts. Today I bring you my JFC Soup Equation. It’s a fool-proof formula for whipping up a tasty, seasonal, AIP-friendly and nutrient dense vegetable soup in no time at all. This equation serves 4, but you can easily double it for batch cooking purposes and it freezes beautifully. I’ve been working on this little number for a while and I am a teeny bit proud of it. I use this not-so-secret equation once a week.

Not even 100% olive oil, Sunny?
Yes – as long as it is well-drained. I think it would be fine.
