Civil servants win pay rise!

THE Government has awarded civil servants a salary increment of K550 across the board effective January 1, 2024.
This follows a successful 10-day negotiation period between Government and 19 public service unions in Lusaka, ended last Friday.
Public Service Management Division (PSMD) Permanent Secretary Margaret Miyoba said in a statement that the Government and the public service unions also agreed to revise the rate of transport allowance from 15 per cent to 20 per cent of the monthly basic salary.
