The Zoe Mesh Swimsuit Coverup
The Zoe is the perfect thing to add some pizzazz to your poolside routine this summer. For this pattern we are using a size 2 (or 3) cotton or cotton blend yarn. For mine I used the Comfy Sport in the “Hawk” colorway because I love the way that gray goes with anything. 🔥 See plenty more yarn suggestions below.
This design is a mesh style top that starts the same as the super popular Chloe Mesh Sleeves… with some minor modifications. The great news is that you can FOLLOW ALONG with the VIDEO for the Chloe, then continue adding length to the body. Awesome!!
If you follow along with the video be sure to pay attention to the sleeve portion. On the Zoe we DO grow the sleeves to be more of a bell shape, while in the Chloe we do NOT. The sleeves start the same but change after several rounds. When we reach the elbow of the Zoe sleeve we start growing very rapidly, in a remarkably easy way. I have made notations in the pattern for easy reference.
By adding one extra block to each round of the sleeve before we join, we end up with this gorgeous bell sleeve that is truly delicious. Throw on some chic Picot Stitches around the sleeve opening and voila! SO CHIC! Here’s a detailed tutorial on how to crochet Picot stitches.
I decided to add big wooden beads to the bottom to give it some weight. Of course the beads are entirely optional but I think they change the whole vibe of the design.
As mentioned above, I used Comfy Sport in the “Hawk” colorway to make this version. You could also use Dishie cotton, Lion Brand’s Truboo, Premier Cotton Fair, Hobbii Friends 8/6 Cotton, or Shine Sport.

Crochet hook in size H/5mm
(4) Stitch markers
Wooden Beads (optional)

Sizing: (XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL) – see sizing help below
Measure your bust and your hips and use the larger of the two to determine which size to make for yourself. If in doubt, go UP A PATTERN SIZE and/or use a slightly thicker yarn. If you decide to use a larger yarn size, the overall finished size of the coverup will be larger as well.
Gauge: 6 blocks and 5 rows in 4” square using Tr + ch-2 blocks
