The Cookies that Best Represent Each State | Bakemag.com | December 04, 2017 14:50 (2024)

With National Cookie Day taking place Monday, December 4, Americans will be celebrating with their favorite cookies, many from their local bakeries. Depending on the state that a person lives in, the preferred cookie flavor may vary.

Just like each region of the country has its own unique cuisine, each state has the cookie that best represents it. That’s what Nestlé Toll House sought to figure out in its latest survey.

In October, the household name in cookies askedover 5,000 people nationwide what kind of cookies best remindthem of theirstate. They were given 57 choices to account for many traditional and untraditional flavors.

From that survey, Nestlé Toll House was able to determine the cookie that best represents each state. Unsurprisingly, chocolate chip was dominant, as it represented 18 states. The next closest flavor was peanut butter with chocolate chips, with 10 states.
