Red Wing Shoe Company is a family-owned business that was founded in Red Wing, Minnesota in 1905. Since its inception, the milestones have been many, including: The debut of the Gloria, our original women's boot, in 1926, the creation of the 877 Moc Toe in 1952, and the acquisition of S.B. Foot Tanning Company in 1987.

As you might already know, all the Red Wing Heritage boots are manufactured in the USA by hand. We've had a tour through the Red Wing Shoe Factory Plant 2 in Red Wing, Minnesota where almost all of our Red Wing Heritage boots are manufactured.

Firstly, it is important to state that Red Wings fit rather big and require a few weeks of break-in time. We recommend to choose a half to a whole EU or US size smaller (depending on if you have a wider or more narrow foot), than usually worn in other brands of shoes.

For those of you that are new to the brand, for your consideration, our boots do fit much larger than other brands. More often than not you will drop half to full size in our boots. But, this does all depend on foot shape whether you have a broader or narrower fitting.
