Microsoft Access 32 Bit & 64 Bit (2024)

Access Database Install format (32 bit or 64 Bit)

Since version 2010, Microsoft has produced the Access Database in both a 32-Bit version and a 64-bit version. Consequently, our free sample software is available in both a 32 bit and 64 Bit version. Usually, you will find two software installer files in the downloaded zip file. The Bit version of the installer is identified by having either '32' or '64' in its filename. Please use the correct installer for your version of Office/Access.

Don't be overly concerned, if you try to install the wrong bit version, the installer will advise you before any installation begins. That said we do recommend using the correct installer the first time.

If unsure which version of Office / Access is installed on your PC, download and run the ID Office Bit app. This small app reads your system and reports on the installed versions of Windows, MS Office, and Access Database. Alternately keep reading below for information on how to manually locate this information in your Office products.

If Access database is not installed on your PC, use the installer matching your (bit) version of MS office. If neither Office nor Access Database is installed, use the installer that matches the Bit version of your Windows OS. Note If Access is not installed the installer will offer to download and install the appropriate version of Access Database Runtime (available free from Microsoft) to match your existing software. Contact us if you need assistance, we are happy to help.
