For golf clubs, we waive the excess size fee so that you pay the same as you would for a normal piece of checked baggage of equivalent weight.
- All flights: The normal baggage fees and rules apply, based on the route and ticket type. However, no excess size fee is charged.
- Example:Atypical Hawaiian Airlines travelerchecking one normal golf bag (and no other bags) would be charged: $25 each way of Neighbor Island flights, $30 each way for North America flights, and no charge for International flights.
Size and weight
Golf bags can be up to 115 inches (292 cm) in total dimension. Total dimension is the sum of the bag’s length, width, and height. Larger items are not accepted.
If your golf bag is over 50 pounds (23 kg), you may be charged an excess weight fee. Our normal weight rules and fees apply.
CanI use a golf bag as one of my free or discounted bags?
Yes, if you are entitled to a free or discounted bag,you may include a golf bag in your free baggage allowance.
What paperwork do I need?
When you check in at the airport, a Hawaiian Airlines agent will do a quick visual inspection of your equipment for any existing damage. You will then be asked to sign a limited release of liability for any equipment not packed in a hard-sided case.
What is the best way to protect my golf equipment during travel?
Make sure your golf equipment is adequately packed before you arrive at the airport. We do not provide packing materials.
- Use a bag or case designed for air travel. Hard-sided cases are recommended.
- Use soft items as extra padding, as needed.
Can I pack additional items in my golf bag?
No, your golf bag can contain golf equipment and a reasonable amount of padding material only. If it contains other items, it will be subject to our normal excess size rules and fees.
Can I packmore than one set of clubs in one bag?
No, each bag can contain a maximum of 14 clubs.If it containsmore than 14 clubs, it will be subject to our normal excess size rules and fees.
Can I carry on golf clubs?
For security reasons, TSA does not allow golf clubs tobe carried on.
Can I check golf clubs without a bag?
No, golf clubs must in a fully enclosed golf bag.
